This mindful class will help you to build a relationship with the Taoist five elements of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal through dance, ritual, and prayer. You will bring attention to and express opposing and dual aspects of your being through movement and your felt sense.
You will learn how to create a smoother more balanced flow of qi (life force energy) in the energy channels of your body known as meridians. This supports well-being and healing.
Dancing the Five Elements is a somatic way to intentionally connect you back to your body, psyche, and soul. It will help you sustain and build vitality and a fuller expression of the different aspects of your being.
This is an inclusive, trauma-informed class that welcomes and celebrates diversity in all forms.
We’ll dedicate one week to each element for five weeks then have one longer session where we’ll connect with all five elements.
